Job summary

Quest Employment is seeking a detail-focused Warehouse Stock Controller in Wellingborough. The role involves maintaining accurate stock levels, conducting cycle counts, and ensuring stock movements are correctly recorded.

You will work closely with Goods In/Out teams to support audits and daily operations. The ideal candidate has experience in stock control, inventory management or warehouse administration, and is proficient with WMS/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular stock checks, cycle counts and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels across the warehouse.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies quickly and accurately.
• Monitor inbound and outbound stock movements.
• Update WMS/ERP systems with stock adjustments and corrections.
• Ensure stock is stored in the correct locations and maintain bin accuracy.
• Prepare stock reports and identify shortages or recurring issues.
• Support physical stock audits and annual stock counts.
• Collaborate with Goods In and Goods Out teams.
• Ensure stock is received, dispatched and recorded correctly.
• Identify damaged, slow-moving, obsolete or quarantined stock.
• Support stock rotation procedures (FIFO/FEFO).
• Liaise with warehouse management and quality teams on stock issues.
• Assist with returns, investigations and quarantined stock processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow procedures.

Location: Wellingborough
Salary: £27,000 per annum
Shifts: Monday to Friday | 6:00am - 2:00pm or 2:00pm - 10:00pm
Contract: Full-time | Permanent

Warehouse Stock Controller Required - Wellingborough

Quest Employment are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Stock Controller to join a busy warehouse operation based in Wellingborough.

This is a great opportunity for an organised and detail-focused individual with experience in stock control, inventory management or warehouse administration. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate stock levels, investigating discrepancies and ensuring all stock movements are recorded correctly.

The Role

As a Warehouse Stock Controller, your duties may include:

• Carrying out regular stock checks, cycle counts and reconciliations

• Maintaining accurate inventory levels across the warehouse

• Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies quickly and accurately

• Monitoring inbound and outbound stock movements

• Updating WMS/ERP systems with stock adjustments, movements and corrections

• Ensuring stock is stored in the correct locations

• Maintaining strong bin accuracy across the warehouse

• Preparing stock reports and identifying shortages or recurring issues

• Supporting physical stock audits and annual stock counts

• Working closely with Goods In and Goods Out teams

• Ensuring stock is received, dispatched and recorded correctly

• Identifying damaged, slow-moving, obsolete or quarantined stock

• Supporting stock rotation procedures, including FIFO/FEFO

• Liaising with warehouse, management and quality teams regarding stock issues

• Supporting returns, investigations and quarantined stock processes

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

• Following all health and safety, compliance and stock-handling procedures

What We're Looking For

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have previous experience in stock control, inventory management or warehouse administration

• Understand warehouse processes and stock movements

• Have experience using WMS or ERP systems

• Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Are confident working with numbers and stock data

• Can investigate discrepancies and identify possible root causes

• Have strong organisation and problem-solving skills

• Can communicate effectively with warehouse, goods-in, goods-out and management teams

• Can work accurately in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment

• Are proactive, reliable and hardworking
