Job summary

South West Recruitment is seeking an experienced Stock Controller to join a well-established food manufacturing company in Yeovil. The role combines stock control, warehouse administration, goods in/out and order preparation.

You will maintain accurate stock records, manage inbound/outbound deliveries, implement FIFO, conduct regular stock counts and support the Supply Chain team. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7.00am – 3.30pm, with a starting salary from £30,000 per annum.

Stock Controller

We are recruiting an experienced Stock Controller to join a well-established food manufacturing company based in Yeovil.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining stock control, warehouse administration, goods in/out and order preparation. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring materials and finished goods are received, stored, picked and dispatched correctly.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing inbound and outbound deliveries, including loading and unloading.
• Booking deliveries onto the system and completing associated documentation.
• Accurately picking, labelling and wrapping pallets ready for dispatch.
• Maintaining FIFO stock rotation.
• Carrying out weekly and monthly stock counts.
• Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
• Picking and preparing materials and orders for production.
• Maintaining warehouse spreadsheets and accurate stock records.
• Updating the Supply Chain team on finished goods stock levels.
• Liaising with external storage providers regarding stock movements.
• Managing the Goods In email account.
• Checking delivery documentation and reporting discrepancies or damaged goods.
• Completing daily forklift checks.
• Assisting with stock traceability and audit requirements.
• Providing training and support to warehouse employees when required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with previous experience in stock control, inventory, goods in/out or warehouse operations, ideally within a manufacturing or food production environment.

You will need to be highly organised, accurate with paperwork and spreadsheets and equally comfortable working within the warehouse. Good communication and IT skills are important, along with the ability to manage stock movements and maintain accurate records.

Counterbalance Forklift experience would be particularly useful due to the hands-on nature of the position.
