They are now seeking a Warehouse Stock Controller to join their team in Syston. This is a hands‑on role focused on maintaining exceptional stock accuracy and integrity across warehouse operations.

Job Purpose

The Stock Controller is responsible for ensuring the highest level of stock accuracy within the warehouse. This role involves physical stock counting, investigating discrepancies and acting as a key escalation point for stock-related operational issues. You will play a vital role in maintaining and improving stock control processes.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Control and Accuracy

  • Conduct regular physical stock counts including cycle counts and perpetual inventory counts
  • Reconcile physical stock with system records and investigate discrepancies
  • Support annual and ad‑hoc stock takes
  • Ensure all stock adjustments are accurate, authorised and fully auditable

Stock Investigation and Query Management

  • Identify root causes of stock issues and implement corrective actions

Operational Escalation and Support

  • Act as the main escalation point for stock integrity issues

  • Collaborate with operational teams to resolve issues and prevent reoccurrence
  • Provide clear updates on stock trends, issues and resolutions

Process Control and Compliance

  • Maintain and enforce stock control procedures
  • Monitor compliance across warehouse functions including goods in, picking, packing, returns and adjustments
  • Challenge non‑compliance constructively and support process improvements
Candidate Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Knowledge of end‑to‑end stock control processes and operational impact on stock accuracy
  • Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies with a root cause approach
  • Strong Excel skills with confidence analysing data
What Our Client Is Looking For

Our client is looking for someone who goes beyond basic stock management – a proactive individual who understands the wider operational impact of stock control and can help drive improvements to prevent issues before they arise.

This role will receive a salary of £23,809.50 plus an FLT/MHE uplift (if in possession of a valid licence; our client will need to see certificates as proof).
