Job summary

Equals One Ltd is seeking an experienced Stock Controller to join our Hull team. You will manage regular cycle counts, investigate stock discrepancies, and ensure accurate stock records across the warehouse and systems.

The role involves working with the operations team, maintaining data integrity, and supporting the annual stock count. Previous Dynamics 365 experience is advantageous and you will be part of a busy distribution environment.

Stock Controller

Location: Hull, HU3

Pay: £14.00 per hour

Hours:Monday to Friday, 7.00am–4.00pm, plus one Saturday in every three, 8.00am–12.00pm

Are you an experienced Stock Controller who enjoys getting to the bottom of discrepancies and making sure the numbers actually add up?

We are looking for an organised and methodical Stock Controller to join our team in Hull.This is a hands‑on role for someone who takes pride in maintaining accurate stock records, is comfortable taking ownership of regular cycle counts and will investigate when something doesn't look right.

The role

Working closely with our warehouse and wider operational team, you will help us maintain accurate stock records and ensure that stock and orders are correctly checked and recorded.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and carrying out regular cycle counts.
• Investigating stock discrepancies, identifying potential causes and helping to resolve them.
• Monitoring stock accuracy and highlighting recurring issues or areas of concern.
• Ensuring stock adjustments and corrections are accurately recorded.
• Supporting the planning and preparation of our annual stock count.
• Helping to investigate and reconcile discrepancies arising from the annual count.
• Carrying out second checks of orders to help ensure the correct goods and quantities are dispatched.
• Maintaining accurate information on our stock‑control systems.
• Working with colleagues across the business to resolve stock and order discrepancies.
• Identifying opportunities to improve stock accuracy and stock‑control processes.

About you

We are looking for someone with previous stock control, inventory control or similar experience who is confident working independently and managing their own routine workload.

You will need:

• Previous experience of stock control and carrying out stock counts.
• Experience of investigating and resolving stock discrepancies.
• Good numerical skills and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Good problem‑solving skills – we want someone who will investigate why something doesn't match, rather than simply report that it doesn't.
• The ability to organise and manage regular cycle‑count activity independently.
• Confidence using computerised stock or inventory systems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a wider team.

Previous experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would be an advantage, as would experience of supporting an annual stock count or working within a warehouse or distribution environment.

Working hours

The role is based at our Hull Head Office and reports to the Transport Manager.

Flexible working hours are required.Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 7.00am–4.00pm, with one Saturday in every three, 8.00am–12.00pm.

Pay: £14.00 per hour.
