Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a Stores Operative to join our Fareham Introduction team. You will receive goods, process inbound stock, and prepare orders for dispatch in a fast-paced defence sector environment.

The role emphasises accurate stock control, compliance with safety and COSHH, and using ERP systems; forklift experience and working at height are desirable. Training provided and a strong team fit is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous Warehouse or Stores experience is required.
• Working at height is required due to role.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Forklift experience desirable.
• Enthusiastic and hardworking.
• Willing to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Receive goods and materials via Goods Inwards and process according to MRP.
• Locate stock in correct locations with proper storage and stock rotation.
• Label and pack stock to ensure identifiability and free of contamination/damage.
• Pick Work Orders and Sales Orders from picking lists with high accuracy.
• Perform general stores duties: loading/unloading, sorting, cleaning and stock movements.
• Follow manual handling guidelines and use lifting equipment when appropriate.
• Maintain a safe, clean yard with properly stored items (COSHH cabinet, oil store).
• Support waste collection processes.
• Respond to hatch enquiries with urgency.
• Process online store requisitions accurately and timely.
• Maintain KPI data and update product locations.
• Maintain stores equipment and vehicles; report malfunctions.
• Ensure packing is up to standard for courier collections and timely.
• Order crates and packing materials to meet deadlines.
• Undertake other duties as required by Head of Unit.
