Job summary

GXO Logistics at the Diageo site in Runcorn is seeking a dedicated Shunter Driver to safely move trailers across the site, supporting production and distribution. This 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shift role runs 19:00–07:00, with 24/7 operations across the site.

You’ll shunt, couple/uncouple trailers, and ensure on-time keg and tanker movements. Requirements include a Full UK driving licence (C+E), max 6 penalty points, valid CPC and Tachograph card, and prior shunting experience with a Terberg unit.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Category C+E
• No more than 6 penalty points on licence and no prohibited endorsements
• Valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance and driving regulations

Responsibilities

• Shunt trailers across the site, including keg loading and end-of-line movements
• Couple and uncouple trailers using Terberg shunt units
• Support production by shunting tankers and trailers for glass and cans
• Maintain trailer supply for keg and THT operations as required
• Complete trailer checks, keg counts and configuration sheets before dispatch

Job description

Are you ready to be part of one of the world's most iconic drinks brands? We're looking for adedicated and safety-focused Shunter Driverto join our logistics team at theDiageo site in Runcorn.

In this crucial role, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers across the site, supporting both production and distribution operations. You'll play a key part in keeping the supply chain flowing smoothly in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

This is a full-time role based on a4 on 4 off shift pattern, with12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00. Our site operates24/7, 363 days a year, so flexibility is key. Occasionally, you may be asked to cover day shifts when needed.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Shunting trailers across the site, including trailers for keg loading, small pack loading at the end of line and between the Diageo packaging plant and the Kammac and DHL sites
• Coupling and uncoupling trailers using Terberg shunt units
• Supporting production operations by shunting Diageo tankers and trailers for glass and cans
• Maintaining trailer supply for keg and THT operations in line with operational needs
• Completing trailer checks, including keg counts, trailer census at shift start and configuration sheets to ensure accuracy before dispatch

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Full UK driving licence with Category C+E entitlement
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence, with no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC, or TT endorsements
• Valid and up-to-date Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and driving regulations
• Previous experience of shunting operations using a Terberg shunt unit
