GXO is hiring a Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our Northfleet team supporting Arbex. The permanent role offers 42 hours per week on a 4 on, 4 off pattern, with day or night shifts (06:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00).

You’ll earn a base salary of £35,583.38 plus £3,231.84 shift premium and up to £7,033.44 for nights, plus holiday, pension and benefits. GXO promotes diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• You must hold a valid Class 1 licence with a minimum of 3 years experience.
• Have a valid Driver Qualification Card (CPC).
• Less than 6 penalty points on licence (no DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years).
• Shunter experience preferred.
• Must be able to complete manual handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• To ensure the TUG unit is safe to operate and monitor H&S of the transport area, report any non-conformances including VOR trailers
• Effectively manage trailers on and off the bays, both at the RDC and over the mill in line with operational requirements.
• Support all external hauliers for collections / deliveries and any internal movements between site locations.
• Complete all transport area checks in an accurate and timely manner utilising systems and methods as supplied.
• Monitor the usage and allocation of stand trailers.
• Prepare trailers for loading including laying out of straps and pulling curtains.
• Carry out any other duties as required in line with the role.
