Job summary

Active Personnel is seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager for its Stanford Le Hope site in Essex. This role leads day-to-day warehouse operations across shifts (6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm) with a focus on performance targets and strong safety culture.

You will manage and develop the team, oversee line management of warehouse staff, and maintain effective customer relationships while delivering efficient service. The role includes days off in lieu as required and alignment with KPI targets.

Qualifications

• Experience within a busy operational environment.
• Proven experience of managing and leading a team within a warehouse/logistics environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Well organised with an attention to detail and high working standards.

Responsibilities

• Management of the day-to-day operation, providing leadership and motivation for the team to ensure the site meets its daily performance target and weekly KPI’s, thereby delivering an efficient and effective service to the customer within budget.
• Line management of warehouse staff ensuring that all colleagues are fully trained and legally compliant. Managing hours, pay issues and training.
• To liaise with other departments and manage the customer relationship. Ensure communication is effective, and issues are highlighted and dealt with in a timely manner.
• Promote good health, safety and environmental practices and challenge poor performance.
• Collation and input of statistical information for various reports for higher management
