Job summary

Computerworld Personnel Ltd is looking for a Logistics Shift Manager in Stevenage to lead the warehouse, despatch and transport teams. You will manage a team of around 30, drive performance, and ensure goods are prepared, loaded, secured and documented.

The role runs on 12-hour shifts (2 days / 2 nights / 4 off) with benefits including a pension match up to 10%, life assurance x4, 20 shifts holiday with overtime, discounts at retailers, and Medihealth scheme.

Qualifications

• Must be an experienced coach & leader.
• Experienced in managing a team in a busy warehouse & despatch operations.
• Ideally have worked off the back of a busy manufacturing environment.
• Strong man-management experience - able to hold people accountable, build relationships, set goals & targets, provide training & support.
• Ideally CPC qualified.
• Knowledge of warehouse stock control, losses, wastage.
• High attention to detail, with a safety first approach.
• Desirable - IOSH Managing Safely.
• Previously have managed a similar size team (30)

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of around 30 people across the warehouse, despatch & transport teams
• Setting goals & targets for the shift, ensuring teams are motivated and engaged
• Supporting risk assessments, SSoW, full compliance of H&S standards
• Manage staff attendance, performance, recruitment, training
• Looking at warehouse stocks, losses, wastage, labour costs, CI initiatives
• Make sure all goods are prepared, loaded, secured and documented
