Job summary

Lidl GB in Doncaster is seeking a Shift Leader to help run operations in one of our warehouses, leading by example across night shifts and training new starters. You’ll open, run and close shifts, manage a motivated team and ensure efficient daily performance.

The role offers a fixed 40-hour contract, night hours 22:00–06:30, 5 nights out of 7, and a benefits package including holiday, discount and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Line manage an amazing team, supporting development and training.
• Lead shifts, monitor performance and direct reports.
• Collaborate with other Shift Leaders and RDC to ensure smooth operations.
• Support Department Manager with daily operations and personnel management.
• Motivate and support your team, upholding Company Values.
• Mentor colleagues and support training.
• Promote efficient working methods and spot inefficiencies.
• Perform general warehouse duties like moving stock, picking goods and processing returns.

What you'll do

• Line manage an amazing team, supporting them with all the development, coaching and training they need to succeed
• Lead the shifts for your area, taking responsibility for colleague performance and your direct reports
• Work closely with other Shift Leaders within your department and across the RDC to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the operations
• Support your Department Manager with daily operations and personnel management
• Motivate and support your team, learning from our Company Values
• Mentor your colleagues and supporting your team’s training
• Proactively promote efficient working methods, highlighting inefficiencies when you spot them
• Efficiently perform general warehouse operative duties like moving stock, picking goods and processing returns
