Job summary

Martin Brower UK & Ireland is seeking a Warehouse Shift Supervisor on a 6-month secondment in Darlington. You will support daily warehouse operations, coordinating with Team Leaders and Operatives to meet targets while upholding safety, quality, and audit standards.

The role offers the chance to develop leadership capabilities in a fast-paced logistics environment, with emphasis on continuous improvement and teamwork. On-site, full-time employment with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting or managing teams within a warehouse, logistics, or FMCG environment.
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to balance priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
• Promote safe working practices and understand compliance, quality, and operational standards.
• Confident in supporting performance conversations and coaching colleagues.
• Experience in a unionised environment or formal leadership training is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the coordination of daily warehouse activities to help achieve operational targets and KPIs.
• Work with Team Leaders and Warehouse Operatives to ensure clear communication of priorities and workload plans.
• Help maintain compliance with health and safety, food safety, hygiene, and audit requirements.
• Support the effective use of warehouse systems and processes for stock management and performance.
• Assist with maintaining high standards across loading, quality inspections, and housekeeping.
• Provide coverage for Warehouse Shift Managers during absences.
• Contribute ideas to improve processes, safety, service, and team effectiveness.
