Job summary

Howdens Joinery Limited is seeking a Warehouse Person to ensure stock is organised, safe and ready for collection or delivery. This hands-on role focuses on accuracy, health and safety, and delivering great service to trade customers in a fast-paced depot environment.

You will unload deliveries, perform forklift checks, maintain stock records and assist with deliveries and collections, all while contributing to a strong team culture and depot performance.

Qualifications

• Forklift licence is desirable.
• Good understanding of stock control and health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail when handling stock and maintaining records.
• Good literacy, numeracy and time management skills.
• Customer-focused approach with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Clear communication and strong organisational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries and check stock in line with health and safety standards.
• Carry out daily checks on forklift trucks and equipment.
• Ensure stock is secure and prepared for dispatch.
• Complete regular stock checks and maintain accurate records.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organised and efficient through stock rotation.
• Support trade customers with a professional and helpful service.
• Assist with deliveries, collections and general warehouse operations.
• Work closely with the depot team to keep operations running smoothly.
