Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a part-time Warehouse Operative to join our Wigan team at Heinz Kraft. The position is permanent and requires 16 hours per week, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 22:00 to 06:00, with an annual salary of £18,086.12.

You’ll load and dispatch vehicles, unload goods, carry out case picking, stock replenishment, and operate FLTs and scanners. We offer 10 days holiday, a company pension, and access to our employee Discount platform, plus career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Warehouse, logistics or distribution experience is desirable.
• Experience in order picking and loading/unloading is advantageous.
• Ability to use warehouse systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and dispatch vehicles efficiently and ensure loads leave on time.
• Unload incoming goods, receipting and counting stock with paperwork.
• Carry out case picking to assemble orders for delivery.
• Perform stock replenishment and rotate inventory using equipment.
• Operate warehouse equipment and follow safety procedures.

Here at GXO Logistics, we are looking for part-time Warehouse Operativeto join our Wigan team at Heinz Kraft.

This is a permanent part-time role. You will be working 16 hours per week, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday, 22:00 - 06:00

What you will do on a typical day:

• Load and dispatch vehicles efficiently, working closely with the Despatch Team Leader to ensure all loads leave on time and associated paperwork is completed accurately
• Unload incoming vehicles safely and accurately, ensuring goods are receipted correctly, stock is counted, and all documentation is completed within required timescales
• Carry out case picking activities to ensure customer orders are assembled accurately and delivered to the correct destination using the appropriate handling equipment
• Complete stock replenishment tasks, ensuring products are rotated correctly and inventory is maintained through the effective use of warehouse equipment and systems
• Operate a range of warehouse equipment, including Counterbalance FLTs, Reach Trucks, LLOPs, and Radio Data Terminals, while adhering to all operational procedures
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Food Safety (HACCP) standards at all times
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects, contributing to business development programmes and ongoing team learning and development activities

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment is desirable
• Experience in order picking, loading/unloading vehicles, and stock control would be advantageous
• Ability to use warehouse systems, handheld scanners, and FLT/LLOP equipment is beneficial
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately, safely, and meet performance targets
• A flexible team player with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to Health & Safety
