Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a part-time Warehouse Operative to join our Wigan team at Heinz Kraft. This permanent, 16-hour weekly role runs Sunday and Monday, 22:00–06:00, offering an annual salary and solid benefits.

Responsibilities include loading and dispatching vehicles, unloading shipments, stock control, and case picking with various warehouse equipment. A safety-conscious, detail-oriented team player will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment is desirable.
• Experience in order picking, loading/unloading vehicles, and stock control would be advantageous.
• Ability to use warehouse systems, handheld scanners, and FLT/LLOP equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Load and dispatch vehicles efficiently, working with the Despatch Team Leader to ensure loads leave on time and paperwork is completed.
• Unload incoming vehicles safely, receipts counted, stock checked, and documentation completed on time.
• Carry out case picking to assemble orders and deliver to destinations using the proper handling equipment.
• Complete stock replenishment tasks, rotate products, and maintain inventory with warehouse systems and equipment.
• Operate a range of warehouse equipment including Counterbalance FLTs, Reach Trucks, LLOPs, and Radio Data Terminals while following procedures.

This is a permanent part-time role. You will be working 16 hours per week, Sunday & Monday, 22:00 – 06:00

What you will do on a typical day:

• Load and dispatch vehicles efficiently, working closely with the Despatch Team Leader to ensure all loads leave on time and associated paperwork is completed accurately
• Unload incoming vehicles safely and accurately, ensuring goods are receipted correctly, stock is counted, and all documentation is completed within required timescales
• Carry out case picking activities to ensure customer orders are assembled accurately and delivered to the correct destination using the appropriate handling equipment
• Complete stock replenishment tasks, ensuring products are rotated correctly and inventory is maintained through the effective use of warehouse equipment and systems
• Operate a range of warehouse equipment, including Counterbalance FLTs, Reach Trucks, LLOPs, and Radio Data Terminals, while adhering to all operational procedures
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Food Safety (HACCP) standards at all times
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects, contributing to business development programmes and ongoing team learning and development activities

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment is desirable
• Experience in order picking, loading/unloading vehicles, and stock control would be advantageous
• Ability to use warehouse systems, handheld scanners, and FLT/LLOP equipment is beneficial
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately, safely, and meet performance targets
