Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a part-time Warehouse Operative in Wigan to join our Heinz Kraft site. You will work 16 hours per week, Sunday and Monday, 22:00–06:00, on-site.

The role includes loading, unloading, and case picking with focus on accuracy, safety, and timely shipments. This permanent part-time position offers a salary of £11,649.68 per year, 10 days' holiday, a company pension, and access to our Hapi App for discounts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment is desirable.
• Experience in order picking, loading/unloading vehicles, and stock control would be advantageous.
• Ability to use warehouse systems, handheld scanners, and FLT/LLOP equipment is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately, safely, and meet performance targets.
• A flexible team player with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Load and dispatch vehicles efficiently, working with the Despatch Team Leader to ensure loads leave on time and paperwork is completed accurately.
• Unload incoming vehicles safely, ensure goods are receipted correctly, stock is counted, and documentation is completed within timescales.
• Carry out case picking to assemble orders and deliver to destination using appropriate handling equipment.
• Complete stock replenishment tasks; rotate products and maintain inventory using warehouse equipment and systems.
• Operate warehouse equipment including Counterbalance FLTs, Reach Trucks, LLOPs, and RDTs, adhering to procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment, complying with Health & Safety, Quality, and HACCP standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects.

What you will do on a typical day:

• Load and dispatch vehicles efficiently, working closely with the Despatch Team Leader to ensure all loads leave on time and associated paperwork is completed accurately
• Unload incoming vehicles safely and accurately, ensuring goods are receipted correctly, stock is counted, and all documentation is completed within required timescales
• Carry out case picking activities to ensure customer orders are assembled accurately and delivered to the correct destination using the appropriate handling equipment
• Complete stock replenishment tasks, ensuring products are rotated correctly and inventory is maintained through the effective use of warehouse equipment and systems
• Operate a range of warehouse equipment, including Counterbalance FLTs, Reach Trucks, LLOPs, and Radio Data Terminals, while adhering to all operational procedures
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Food Safety (HACCP) standards at all times
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects, contributing to business development programmes and ongoing team learning and development activities

What you need to succeed at GXO:
