Job summary

Alliance Automotive Logistics operates a National Distribution Centre in Rotherham seeking a Warehouse Operative to receive, store and dispatch goods with a focus on accuracy and safety.

This fast-paced role requires lifting up to 20 kg, standing and walking for extended periods, and operating pallet trucks or forklifts (training provided). Opportunities for progression and a supportive team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Assist with loading/unloading deliveries and support team targets.
• Report discrepancies or safety issues to management.

Location: Alliance Automotive Logistics, Rotherham

Reports To: First Line Manager

Shift: Monday to Friday, 2130 - 0630

Rate: £15.31 p/h (Inclusive of night supplement)

As a Warehouse Operative at our National Distribution Centre in Rotherham, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment while delivering high standards of accuracy and productivity.

This is a fast-paced dynamic warehouse environment and involves physically demanding tasks including lifting (up to 20kg) and standing / walking for extended periods of time (up to 7.5 hours depending on shift).

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, unload, and check incoming goods for quality and quantity
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with company procedures
• Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet trucks and forklifts (training provided if required)
• Carry out stock checks, cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations
• Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles efficiently
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety issues promptly to management
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and safety

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred but not essential
• Ability to work physically demanding tasks including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in order processing
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends if required
• Basic IT skills for data entry and scanning tasks
