Job summary

Alliance Automotive Logistics in Rotherham is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our National Distribution Centre. You will receive, store and dispatch goods, keeping the warehouse accurate, safe and efficient.

This fast-paced role involves physical tasks, lifting up to 25kg, standing and walking for extended periods. Training is provided for pallet trucks and forklifts, with opportunities for progression within the company.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred but not essential.
• Physically demanding role with lifting, standing and walking for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and ability to work as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills for data entry and scanning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and check incoming goods for quality and quantity.
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with procedures.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet trucks and forklifts (training provided).
• Carry out stock checks and maintain inventory records.
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy and compliant with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily targets and report discrepancies promptly.

As a Warehouse Operative at our National Distribution Centre in Rotherham, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment while delivering high standards of accuracy and productivity. This is a fast-paced dynamic warehouse environment and involves physically demanding tasks including lifting (up to 25kg) and standing / walking for extended periods of time (up to 7.5 hours depending on shift).

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, unload, and check incoming goods for quality and quantity
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with company procedures
• Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet trucks and forklifts (training provided if required)
• Carry out stock checks, cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations
• Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles efficiently
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety issues promptly to management
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and safety

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred but not essential
• Ability to work physically demanding tasks including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in order processing
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends if required
• Basic IT skills for data entry and scanning tasks
