Job summary

Alliance Automotive Logistics in Rotherham is seeking a Warehouse Operative for our National Distribution Centre. You will receive, store and dispatch goods, maintain a safe and accurate warehouse, and work in a fast-paced environment.

This role involves lifting up to 20 kg, standing/walking for extended periods, and using pallet trucks and forklifts (training provided). Shifts may include evenings and weekends to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred but not essential.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 20 kg, standing and walking for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in order processing.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights and weekends if required.
• Basic IT skills for data entry and scanning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and check incoming goods for quality and quantity.
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet trucks and forklifts (training provided).
• Carry out stock checks, cycle counts, and maintain inventory records.
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily targets.
• Report discrepancies, damages, or safety issues promptly.

As a Warehouse Operative at our National Distribution Centre in Rotherham, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment while delivering high standards of accuracy and productivity. This is a fast-paced dynamic warehouse environment and involves physically demanding tasks including lifting (up to 20kg) and standing / walking for extended periods of time (up to 7.5 hours depending on shift).

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and check incoming goods for quality and quantity
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with company procedures
• Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet trucks and forklifts (training provided if required)
• Carry out stock checks, cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations
• Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles efficiently
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety issues promptly to management
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and safety
