Job summary

Alliance Automotive Logistics in Rotherham is recruiting a Warehouse Operative for our National Distribution Centre. You will handle receipt, storage and dispatch of goods, maintaining accuracy and safety in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves lifting up to 20 kg, standing and walking for extended periods, and using pallet trucks or forklifts. Training is provided, with opportunities for progression within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred but not essential.
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 20 kg, standing and walking for long periods.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate order processing.
• Flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, nights and weekends if required.
• Basic IT skills for data entry and scanning tasks.

As a Warehouse Operative at our National Distribution Centre in Rotherham, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment while delivering high standards of accuracy and productivity. This is a fast-paced dynamic warehouse environment and involves physically demanding tasks including lifting (up to 20kg) and standing / walking for extended periods of time (up to 7.5 hours depending on shift).

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and check incoming goods for quality and quantity
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with company procedures
• Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet trucks and forklifts (training provided if required)
• Carry out stock checks, cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations
• Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles efficiently
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety issues promptly to management
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and safety

Essential Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred but not essential
• Ability to work physically demanding tasks including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in order processing
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends if required
• Basic IT skills for data entry and scanning tasks
