Job summary

DPD Group Uk in Preston, England, is seeking a Warehouse Operative for night shifts. This fast-paced role involves standing, loading, unloading, and ensuring parcels are handled safely and efficiently.

You will use scanners, sort parcels, and work with a close-knit team to hit daily targets. Full training provided from day one, with uniform and PPE supplied.

Qualifications

• Experience with loading/unloading and parcel sorting.
• Able to lift and handle items up to 25kg.
• Willingness to work night shifts and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parcels with accuracy and care.
• Sort and scan parcels to ensure correct destinations.
• Operate scanners and basic warehouse equipment safely.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.
• Conduct quality checks and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily targets and shift objectives.

Job description

• Days of Work: Sunday to Wednesday
• Hours of Work: 02:30 to 09:00

This is a fast-paced, physical role and you will be on your feet all shift. As a warehouse operative, you will be the backbone of our operation, playing a critical role in DPD continuing to deliver outstanding service.

Key Duties Include:

• Loading and unloading, scanning, and sorting parcels with precision and accuracy
• Handling items up to 25kg (who needs a gym membership when you can keep fit whilst you work!)
• Using our technology systems to ensure every parcel gets to the right place at the right time
• Operating warehouse equipment including scanners, conveyor systems, and handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping throughout the warehouse environment
• Conducting quality control checks to verify parcel condition and accurate labelling and reporting any discrepancies, damaged items, or system issues to your supervisor promptly
• Working collaboratively with team members to meet daily targets and shift objectives
• Adhering to attendance expectations and maintaining reliability throughout your shift

You'll Receive: Full training from Day 1 and all required uniform and PPE
