Job summary

Pertemps Bridgwater are recruiting an experienced Warehouse Operative/Controller for Highbridge. The role combines hands-on warehouse duties with stock control and administration, including Sage 50 usage and Reach Truck operations.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years' experience in a similar role, a valid Reach Truck licence, and strong stock accuracy. Temp to perm opportunity with a 36-hour week.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' experience within a warehouse controller, senior warehouse operative or similar position.
• Proven experience using Sage 50 for stock control/inventory management or order processing.
• A valid Reach Truck licence (RTITB, ITSSAR or equivalent).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent stock accuracy.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
• Good communication skills.
• Proactive, hands-on approach to warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record incoming goods, dispatches, stock adjustments and damages using Sage 50.
• Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Process purchase orders, pick lists and delivery notes through Sage 50.
• Investigate stock variances, incorrect locations and delivery discrepancies.
• Safely operate a Reach Truck to move and store stock within high-bay racking.
• Unload incoming deliveries and check goods against delivery documentation.
• Prepare and stage outgoing orders for dispatch.
• Monitor stock levels and replenish picking locations as required.
• Pick, pack and label orders during busy periods.
• Complete daily forklift safety checks.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe warehouse environment.
• Work closely with drivers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure the smooth movement of stock.

Pertemps are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Warehouse Operative / Controller to join their team in Highbridge.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional looking for a temp 2 perm position, combining hands-on warehouse duties with stock control and administration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock records using Sage 50, while also carrying out day-to-day warehouse duties including Reach Truck operation, goods in/out, picking and stock replenishment.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• 2-3 years' experience within a warehouse controller, senior warehouse operative or similar position
• Proven experience using Sage 50, particularly for stock control, inventory management or order processing
• A valid and accredited Reach Truck licence (RTITB, ITSSAR or equivalent)
• Strong attention to detail and excellent stock accuracy
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• The ability to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
• Good communication skills
• A proactive, hands-on approach to warehouse operations
• The ability to comfortably handle standard warehouse duties and work at height within high-bay racking
