Job summary

West Riding Recruitment Limited is assisting a Wakefield-based client in finding an experienced Warehouse Operative to cover the afternoon shift. You will handball stock, pick and pack, load vans and keep stock records accurate, while working safely in a busy yard.

The role requires a valid UK Driving Licence and prior warehouse experience; forklift skills are advantageous. This is a temporary-to-permanent position with regular afternoon hours, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Must hold UK Driving Licence.
• Experience in a fast-paced warehouse is preferred.
• Forklift experience and operation where authorised is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Handballing stock and picking/packing orders.
• Unloading and loading goods; driving vans in the yard where permitted.
• Capture stock movements and conduct regular stock counts.
• Use the warehouse management system to record movements and ensure accuracy.
• Maintain orderly work areas and support shipping/receiving tasks.

As a Warehouse Operative - Afternoons, you’ll support the safe, accurate movement of goods through the warehouse. You’ll handle materials, pick and pack orders, replenish stock, and assist with shipping and receiving. We are recruiting on behalf of our Client who are based in Wakefield for an experienced Warehouse Operative to work on their afternoon shift – must hold valid full driving licence due to moving vans in the yard.

Candidates must have a valid Driving Licence to be able to move/load van yard.

This role is offered on a temporary to permanent basis.

Duties

• Handballing stock
• Pick and unload stock
• Driving the vans in the Yard (must hold full driving licence)
• Loading onto vans securely to be transported to our customers
• Ensure regular stock counts are conducted and identify any discrepancies

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a fast-paced warehouse is ideal but not essential
• Must hold a valid UK Driving License
• A positive attitude and eagerness to learn, including completing any required training

Hours of work

This is an afternoon shift working Monday to Friday

Salary

£12.80 per hourpatch the right goods efficiently and gives customers confidence in their deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack and check goods against order information, following quality control procedures.
• Receive deliveries, check incoming stock and support shipping, loading and unloading.
• Move and store materials safely, replenish stock and keep work areas organised.
• Use the warehouse management system to record stock movements; operate a forklift where appropriately authorised.

Experience

Required: UK Driving Licence, Practical materials-handling skills, care with picking, packing and stock records, and the ability to carry out heavy lifting safely are important for these duties.

Preferred: Warehouse experience, including shipping and receiving, stocking or warehouse management system use, is advantageous; forklift experience, mechanical knowledge and quality control skills can also support your work
