Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc is hiring Warehouse Operatives to work in Reading. This full-time, permanent position requires an ‘any 5 days out of 7’ shift pattern, primarily covering morning shifts from 06:00 to 14:00 hours.

The role supports picking customer orders in chilled, produce, and ambient environments. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, work effectively as a part of a team, and be committed to health and safety standards.

Here at GXO, we’re working in partnership with Waitrose and are looking for Warehouse Operatives to join our team in Reading. This is a full‑time, permanent position, working an ‘any 5 days out of 7’ shift pattern, covering the morning shift 06:00 – 14:00 hours.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Our Warehouse Operatives work in chilled, produce and ambient environments and support the picking of customer orders
• You’ll operate manual handling equipment in a safe manner
• You will utilise the warehouse management system and ‘pick by voice’ equipment
• Ensure that all health & safety practices are followed in line with company policies
• Working towards daily productivity and performance targets
• Maintaining high housekeeping, hygiene, and safety standards at all times

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previously working in a warehouse environment desirable
• Flexibility in your approach – we do have peak seasons!
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills with a customer‑focused approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and adaptability
• Commitment to Health & Safety and maintaining operational standards
