Job summary

Pertemps is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a busy UK warehouse operation, covering inbound, outbound and reverse logistics with a focus on efficiency, service levels and continuous improvement.

You will manage day-to-day warehouse activities, ensure safety and customer service standards, and drive KPI performance while mentoring Team Leaders and staff. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader in a fast-paced 3PL environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior warehouse management role within a logistics environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proven ability to manage KPIs, budgets and overall operational performance.
• Solid knowledge of warehouse systems (WMS) and process improvements.
• Commercial awareness with strong problem-solving and stakeholder influence.
• Confident communicator able to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all warehouse operations including inbound, outbound and returns.
• Drive operational performance, KPIs and service levels.
• Control costs and manage resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and company procedures.
• Develop, mentor and inspire Team Leaders and warehouse staff.
• Manage workforce planning to meet changing business demands.
• Oversee WMS processes and operational reporting.
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Foster a positive, high-performing culture across the operation.
