Job summary

Culina, Great Bear site is seeking an Operations Controller to support daily warehouse operations in Minworth. You will oversee inbound and outbound schedules, issue guidance to staff, and ensure accurate paperwork for outbound vehicles, acting as the on-site contact for drivers.

The role emphasizes communication with Shift Managers and transport providers, problem solving, and a proactive approach to reducing delays, with a focus on accuracy, teamwork, and efficient handovers between shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Able to prioritise schedules for inbound/outbound operations.
• Strong communication with drivers and shift managers.
• Proactive in problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
• Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
• Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
• Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
• Communicating issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
• Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
• Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.
• Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on your own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.
