Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc is seeking a Warehouse First Line Manager at the Swindon distribution centre. You will lead from the front, directing Team Leaders and Operatives to deliver exceptional service for a major UK retailer, while driving safety, efficiency and on-time performance.

This full-time role offers 40 hours weekly on rotating days/afternoons (06:00-14:00/14:00-22:00). The package includes a salary up to £34,333 plus 25 days leave, pension, private medical, dental, and additional benefits

GXO is currently looking for a Warehouse First Line Manager to join our B&Q Distribution Centre in Swindon. In this role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the warehouse operation, leading Team Leaders and Warehouse Operatives to deliver outstanding service for one of the UK's best-known retailers. You'll play a key role in driving operational performance, developing your team, and ensuring a safe and compliant working environment at all times.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week on a rotating days and afternoons shift pattern (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00). Flexibility will be required to support the needs of the operation because this is logistics after all!

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Lead the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring service, productivity and compliance targets are consistently achieved
• Manage and develop Team Leaders and Warehouse Operatives, creating a positive, high-performing culture
• Ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across your area of responsibility
• Monitor operational performance, analysing KPIs and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive effective communication and shift handovers, ensuring a seamless operation across all departments

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous management experience within a warehouse, logistics or transport environment
• Experience leading teams of 10+ colleagues and managing employee relations processes, including investigations, disciplinaries and grievances
• Strong organisational, communication and people management skills
• Good analytical and numerical abilities, with experience using Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word
• A proactive approach with a passion for operational excellence, continuous improvement and team development
