Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Skelmersdale is seeking a Warehouse First Line Manager to drive performance, support colleagues and deliver exceptional service in a busy warehouse. You’ll lead by example, promote safety and continuous improvement, and ensure the operation runs smoothly every day.

The role requires previous warehouse leadership experience, ability to motivate a team, and strong organisational skills. Hours include 4 on, 4 off shifts (06:00-17:30 or 18:00-05:30); a night shift premium applies

• You\'ll have previous experience leading or supervising teams within a warehouse, logistics or supply chain environment.
• You are confident working in fast-paced operations where customer service, accuracy and timely delivery are key priorities.
• You have strong organisational skills and can prioritise workloads while supporting team performance.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day running of your designated warehouse area, monitoring performance and reporting to management.
• Lead and motivate a team to hit productivity and quality targets, planning workloads and meeting deadlines safely.
• Coordinate daily activities and communicate clear expectations to colleagues to maintain high standards.
• Monitor order progress through warehouse systems, ensuring stock movement, records and timely fulfilment.
• Champion Health & Safety standards and promote best practice across the operation.

Pay Rate: £32,000 (+ premium on night shift)

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Shift patterns: 4 on, 4 off – 06:00-17:30 or 18:00 - 05:30

• Support the day-to-day running of your designated warehouse area, monitoring performance and providing updates to management on operational effectiveness
• Lead and motivate a team to achieve productivity and quality targets, ensuring workloads are planned effectively and deadlines are delivered safely and on time
• Coordinate daily activities and communicate clear expectations to colleagues, helping to maintain high standards and a positive working environment
• Monitor and manage order progress through warehouse systems, ensuring accurate stock movement, record keeping and timely order fulfilment
• Promote a safe and compliant workplace by championing Health & Safety standards and encouraging best practice across the operation

• Have previous experience leading or supervising teams within a warehouse, logistics or supply chain environment

• Have strong organisational skills and can effectively prioritise workloads while supporting team performance
• Are comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, Warehouse Management Systems and other operational technology
