Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 2 Housekeeper (EAU) for up to 24 hours per week, permanent at West Cumberland Hospital Whitehaven. Training provided; previous housekeeping experience not essential.

Role involves maintaining hygiene, stocking, meal support, and liaising with patients and carers to ensure comfort and care. The post supports a fast-paced Emergency Assessment Unit, with a focus on safety and cleanliness, in a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or caring environment.
• Food safety/hygiene certificate or willingness to undertake.
• NVQ 1 in Hotel Services or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and replenish Ward stock including stock and non-stock requisitions.
• Maintain high cleaning and hygiene standards of ward areas and rooms.
• Dispose of waste safely and report hazards.
• Assist Ward Manager to keep ward environment safe and tidy.
• Prepare and serve hot/cold beverages as scheduled.
• Update patient food diaries and assist with meals as needed.
• Support patients with nutritional needs and personal care items.
