Job summary

Two 28-hour Senior Housekeeper posts sit in the Hotel Services Department at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, covering ward and area cleaning schedules. The work keeps patient, visitor and staff areas clean and safe, to National Cleaning Standards, infection control and health and safety rules.

Where needed, ward-based catering sits alongside cleaning, so the role includes meal service as well as housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Willingness to complete all in-house training required for the role.
• Demonstrable experience delivering cleaning to required standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleaning standards by following correct procedures and frequencies.
• Clean wards, areas and locations to the relevant schedules.
• Operate mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Replenish disposables and consumables, and store chemicals and equipment safely.
• Carry out specialist and one-off cleaning.
• Assist with laundry as required.
• Work with nursing staff so that service users receive appropriate meals on the ward.
• Regenerate food, probe and record temperatures, and serve meals presentably and on time, with cutlery and condiments supplied.
• Prepare the dining room for service and clear it afterwards.
• Record waste levels at the end of service and clean the regeneration trolley.
• Work across the wider housekeeping team and other Hotel Services areas when needed.
