We are seeking a Ward Clerk Team Leader for the Integrated Geriatric and Stroke Medicine department, based at The Northern General Hospital and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The successful candidate will work across both sites in a full-time capacity, primarily Monday to Friday, with shifts between 7 am and 6 pm.
The Ward Clerk Team Leader will supervise the ward clerk team, ensuring adequate staffing and support for administrative duties that facilitate ward operations, under the guidance of the Nurse in Charge and the IGSM Service Co-Ordinator. The role involves collaboration with various staff disciplines and requires flexibility.
Key duties include managing administrative procedures such as case note tracking, leading the ward clerk team, creating staff rotas, providing cover during off-hours, and developing training programs for new staff. The role also involves conducting regular staff appraisals, encouraging staff development, maintaining communication channels, and ensuring operational standards are met. The candidate must respond calmly in conflict situations and work collaboratively to deliver high-quality patient services.
