Job description

A flexible approach to a working shift pattern is required, this does not include night shifts. You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills who can work well under pressure, using initiative & common sense.

The Stroke Unit is a busy, yet friendly place to work. The unit has 30 beds, which includes to Hyper Acute bays. The ward has a high volume of admissions and discharges, and prides itself on being a welcome and friendly environment for both our staff and patients. From September 2026, patients from Somerset will be admitted for the first 72 hours of their stroke and then repatriating to Somerset to continue their stroke recovery pathway.

You will be responsible for taking phone calls, liaising with the nursing team and booking transport for the patients, if required. You will also be required to maintain the electronic systems including PAS, Patient tracker and Electronic Discharge summaries (EDS)
