Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Bedford is seeking two Ward Clerks to operate as a Float within the Ward Clerk team. You will interact with patients, relatives and staff, providing front-line clerical support and adaptable ward cover.

The role requires GCSE-level education, customer-facing experience and IT skills, with responsibility for inputting patient data into clinical systems and supporting ward operations across Bedford Hospital.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a customer facing/reception role.
• Experience of using IT package.

Responsibilities

• Provide front line clerical service to clinical staff on the ward and support patients and relatives at the ward entrance.
• Input patient level data into clinical systems for admission, discharge and transfer, ensuring data quality and governance.
• Manage workload flexibly to cover various wards as the role evolves with the business.
