An exciting opportunity has arisen within the acute medical unit, providing a range of administrative and clerical support as delegated by the medical and nursing team. The department cares for patients referred by A&E and GPs. The role is varied, fast-paced, and challenging, requiring good team working skills and the ability to work independently.
The main focus of the post will be working within the reception area to support the clinical team with managing patient flow, ensuring patients are checked in and transferred out. The post holder will also order stock for the ward and assist in keeping the unit area clean and tidy.
We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual who can work as part of our busy team. This is a demanding role, so confidence, the ability to handle inquiries, and strong interpersonal and communication skills, including an excellent telephone manner, are essential.
If you possess excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills, work well in a team, and can meet deadlines, this position could be suitable for you.
The Ward Clerk role is multi-faceted. The Ward Clerk supports the team and the unit manager with clerical duties, daily departmental operations, and ensures all support facilities are in place.
