This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, reliable, and committed individual to join our busy and established team as a Ward Clerk within our Great Western Hospital, Swindon.
As a ward clerk you will be part of a wider business support function, providing administrative and organisation support across the full range of ward and service activities, supporting the smooth running of the ward and providing support to frontline clinicians and managers. Each in-patient ward will have its own range of demands, which the ward clerk will be expected to meet in discussion with the Admin Lead / Team Lead / Admin Supervisor.

Essential Experience & Skills
At least one year of administrative experience, ideally in customer care, healthcare, or social care.
Confident using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) with accurate IT and keyboard skills.
Strong communication abilities—both written and verbal—with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
Experienced in taking accurate minutes/notes, managing time effectively, and maintaining confidentiality.
Able to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
Positive, punctual, dependable, and adaptable to changing priorities.
Personal Qualities
Reliable, flexible, and open to learning and development.
Calm, caring, and professional in approach, with a responsive attitude to delegation.
Two or more years of admin experience, especially within the NHS.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to other sites if needed.
Smart appearance.
