Torbay And South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join Cheetham Hill Ward. You will support Registered Nurses with direct patient care, assist with admissions, hygiene, nutrition, and mobility, and help maintain high standards of safety and dignity for older adults.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contribute to care plans, document care provided, and support patients through assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification/experience.
• English & Mathematics at GSCE grade A-C (9-4) or level 2 functional skills (desirable).

Responsabilités

• Answer the telephone, take messages and refer to the Staff Nurse for instructions.
• Take part in ward/unit meetings and encourage effective communications.
• Communicate with staff, patients and visitors.
• Assist in risk assessments and follow care plans.
• Bed making and patient personal hygiene tasks.
• Assist with continence management, catheter care and rehabilitation.
• Record intake of meals and maintain fluid balance charts.
• Assist with sample collection and basic clinical tasks.
• Escort patients to other departments as needed.
