Job summary

TAFF is seeking a compassionate Support Assistant to join Ty Parc, our new supported accommodation in Abergavenny, working waking nights. You will help keep residents safe, supported, and moving towards independence with a person-centred, relationship-led approach.

From the outset you will work with care-experienced young people aged 16+, building trust, responding calmly to needs, and following support plans to promote wellbeing and progression in a psychologically informed environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supported housing, leaving care, or similar setting.
• Understanding of trauma and psychologically informed approaches to working with young people.
• Ability to respond calmly and professionally to varying situations.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection best practices.
• Ability to work waking night shifts and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support care-experienced young people aged 16+ during waking nights.
• Build positive relationships and work with residents to enable progression to independence.
• Follow service plans and safety/risk protocols to maintain a safe environment.
