Job summary

Taff Housing is seeking a compassionate Support Officer for Ty Parc in Abergavenny. You will provide purposeful, outcome-focused support to five care-experienced young people aged 16+, help them move towards independence, and manage risk in a trauma-informed, psychologically informed way.

You will hold your own caseload, develop SMART support plans, line-manage a small team of support assistants, and participate in an on-call rota to ensure 24/7 project reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering trauma-informed support in accommodated settings.
• Ability to create and implement SMART support plans.
• Competence in risk assessment and safeguarding.
• Strong communication with residents, families, and partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide purpose-driven support to five care-experienced young people aged 16+ to build independence.
• Lead on assessment, support planning and risk management for your caseload.
• Line-manage a small team of support assistants and supervise their work.
• Participate in an on-call rota to support 24/7 project operations.
• Maintain accurate, timely notes and share information with the team as required.
