Job summary

Taff Housing Association is recruiting a Support Officer for Ty Parc, a new supported accommodation project in Abergavenny. You will manage a caseload of five care‑experienced young people aged 16+, lead on assessments and risk management, and line manage a small team of support workers, while delivering trauma‑informed, person‑centred support.

The role offers opportunities for ongoing training, clinical supervision, and professional development in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Psychologically and trauma-informed approach to delivering support in a supported accommodation setting.
• Create tailored support plans using SMART goals to help residents move to independent accommodation.
• Receive referrals, assess risk and communicate information clearly and appropriately.
• Keep detailed, timely notes on resident interactions and share important information with the team.
• Liaise with partner agencies to share updates and coordinate support for residents’ safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead on assessment, support planning and risk management for five care‑experienced young people aged 16+.
• Line manage a small team of support assistants and provide regular supervision.
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings with external agencies to coordinate support and best practice.
• Be part of an on-call rota to support the project outside standard hours.
• Maintain safety of residents and colleagues by following safeguarding and health & safety guidelines.
