Job summary

CareTech Inspire in Dudley is seeking a Waking Nights Support Worker to join the children’s residential care team. You will work nights with young people who have learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and communication challenges.

No prior experience required; applications from education, youth work, childcare, healthcare, or social care backgrounds are welcome. The role includes using digital care records and a company car during working hours.

Qualifications

  • Waking Nights role in Dudley supporting children with learning disabilities.
  • Right to work in the UK is required; sponsorship is not available.
  • Experience with electronic care recording systems is a plus; full training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overnight support to children with learning disabilities.
  • Record and monitor children’s records using a digital care system.
  • Ensure children feel safe, valued and supported during night shifts.

Pay:£14.86 per hour - 37.5 hours per week

Excellent opportunity for aWaking Nights Support Worker to join our home in Dudley. The home is rated Good in all areas with OFSTED and has an excellent reputation with the local authorities. The home can accommodate up to 6 Young people, all the Children & Young People we support have a learning disability, Autism, epilepsy and can display some associated behaviours. Many of our children (not all) are non-verbal or have limited communication and will communicate with us through different methods such as picture boards, Smartbox devices and Makaton.

Preferred but not Essential
  • Experience in Residential Childcare Environment (Preferred)
  • Level 4 Children’s and Young People or equivalent (Preferred but not essential)
  • Driver (company provide a car during working hours)
  • Able to work unsociable hours (evenings and nights including weekends)
  • New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
