Job summary

Homes2Inspire, part of the Shaw Trust Group, is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker for Hatton House in Wellingborough. You will safeguard and support young people during the night, assisting with routines, recording details, and liaising with professionals.

This is a full-time role (40 hours) with a 4 on 4 off pattern, 9pm–8am. Salary ranges from £27,976 to £28,650 per year, plus attendance bonus and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience with young people is beneficial.
  • Willingness to complete QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
  • Full UK driving licence is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard and promote wellbeing of young people during the night.
  • Support night-time routines and manage incidents if they occur.
  • Provide thorough handover to the day shift.
  • Assist with daily routines, household tasks and meals.
  • Encourage participation in activities and hobbies.
  • Transport to school, appointments and activities when required.
  • Be a positive role model and build trust with young people.
  • Liaise with social workers and therapists to meet needs.
  • Help develop life skills and manage finances.
  • Maintain accurate records and paperwork.
  • Work flexibly, 4 on 4 off from 9pm to 8am.

Salary: £27,976 - £28,650 per annum (£13.45 – £13.77 per hour) + attendance bonus

About The Home

Hatton House is a 4 bedded childrens residential home based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. Supporting children and young people up to the age of 18 – the home provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment by offering emotional and practical support to help children develop life skills and build confidence.

The Role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, You Will
  • Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of young people in our care throughout the night.
  • Supporting with night-time routines, manage incidents should they occur
  • Provide through handover to the day shift.
  • Support with daily routines, household tasks, and meal preparation.
  • Encourage participation in community activities, and hobbies.
  • Transport young people to school, medical appointments, and activities.
  • Act as a positive role model, setting clear boundaries and building trust.
  • Liaise with other professionals like social workers and therapists to ensure the physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Help young people develop life skills, including managing finances.
  • Maintain accurate records and paperwork.
  • Work flexibly rotating onto weekends, bank holidays.
  • Be able to work 4 on 4 off from 9pm to 8am

Shifts
