Job summary

Advance Housing & Support Ltd in Poole, Dorset, is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker to help people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs live the lives they choose. The role offers flexible night shifts and comprehensive training in a supportive social care team.

Two contract options exist: 18 hours or 36 hours per week, with pay shown in annual terms. The organisation emphasises DBS checks, safeguarding, and opportunities for progression within the care sector.

Qualifications

• Experience in care not required; values and determination to make a difference in the lives of people with autism or learning disabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Able to keep accurate care records and communicate in English.
• Care Certificate willingness and attainment when possible.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required).
• Ensuring the premises are secure and safe during the night.
• Supporting meal times and food preparation (if required).
• Medication administration (if required).
• Support with independent skills.
• Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required.
• Keeping up to date with your training.
• Regular checks to ensure customer safety.
