Job summary

CareTech is recruiting Wake Night Support Workers for a brand-new service in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. This permanent, full-time role offers a 35‑hour rota with evenings, weekends and sleep-ins, and requires a full clean UK driving licence.

We provide full training, enhanced DBS paid for by CareTech, and a path to progression within a person-centred care environment supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full clean UK manual driving licence.
• Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis

About the Service – Ripon Road

This is a brand-New Supported Living Service based which is due to open late autumn 2026. This property has been Newley refurbished to a high standard.

This service comprising of six brand-new self-contained flats for people with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that may be challenging.

The service is a well-located setting for a care service that promotes independence, providing easy access to local amenities and community facilities. The service is within convenient reach of the area’s shops and supermarkets with excellent public transport. There are nearby parks, green spaces and leisure facilities, the location supports a balanced lifestyle, promoting independence, wellbeing and access to the local community in a well-connected and established residential area

You will be working alone and as part of a team supporting people with various needs, such as Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, and Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

You will have a person-centred approach to supporting people with their day-to-day living in order to provide a caring, safe and effective service that is responsive to the needs of the people we support. This will include providing support with household tasks, meal planning and preparation, maintaining relationships with their family and friends and with accessing the community.

• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
