Job summary

Family Care Group in Formby is seeking a dedicated Waking Night Residential Childcare Worker to support children with learning disabilities overnight. You will stay awake, monitor safety, provide personal care as per care plans, and help maintain a calm, secure environment for young people to sleep.

Working as part of a therapeutic team, you will undertake domestic duties, keep accurate handovers, and contribute to safeguarding with a focus on wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Ideally experienced in residential childcare.
• Experience with learning disabilities or mental health support is desirable.
• Waking Night shifts (152 hours per month) working pattern.
• Enhanced DBS required on appointment.

Responsibilities

• Remain awake and vigilant for the duration of your shift to safeguard young people at night.
• Undertake domestic duties (cooking/cleaning) identified on handover by the Team Leader.
• Maintain a log of events and prepare a handover for staff in the morning.
• Deliver personal care as guided by the care plan for each young person.
• Be responsible for building security for the duration of your shift.
• Participate in training and, if applicable, complete a diploma per Children’s Home Regulations 2015.
