Job summary

Paragon Social Care is seeking a dedicated Waking Night Children's Residential Support Worker to join our Crook-based residential childcare team. You will support children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs, maintaining a safe, nurturing environment during night shifts.

This role emphasises safeguarding, consistent care, and positive role modelling within a multidisciplinary team. Full UK driving licence is desirable and training is provided to advance your career.

Qualifications

• Experience in children’s residential care settings.
• Ability to work night shifts while maintaining safeguarding.
• Strong communication and boundary-setting with young people.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
• Promote a safe, caring and nurturing residential environment.
• Carry out welfare checks and risk assessments.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and emergencies.
• Provide emotional support, reassurance and positive role modelling.
• Encourage positive behaviour through consistent boundaries and relationship-based care.
• Maintain accurate daily records and handovers.
• Ensure the home remains safe and secure with safety checks.
• Complete light household duties to keep a welcoming home.
• Support morning routines where required.
• Collaborate with colleagues, managers and external professionals.
• Deliver care in line with safeguarding and organisational policies.
