Salary: £27,518.40 per annum with potential to earn extra with overtime hours.

Location: Horsham, West Sussex

Contract: Full Time, permanent

Specific Hours: Approx 40 hours per week. 10pm - 9am working five days on and five off.

We are looking for a friendly, outgoing and experienced Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team. Candidates must have a minimum of 12 months relevant experience and ideally possess Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

• Work 55 hours per week on a rota of 5 nights on and 5 nights off. May need to cover more shifts during illness or crisis.
• Promote the welfare of the children as defined in the Children Act 1989.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and supervision sessions when not on duty.
• Participate in required training.
• Attend the young people's holiday, usually for one week in summer.
• Arrive on time, read handover notes, and receive shift information regarding the young people and events.
• Understand the young people's needs and develop strategies to meet them.
• Promote consistent bedtime routines and hygiene practices.
• Record disturbances during the night and communicate with staff.
• Complete daily and weekly record books, including fire alarm tests.
• Monitor young people's movements and ensure safety throughout the night.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your manager.
