Female Waking Night Childrens Residential Care Support Worker

We're seeking a supportive and compassionate woman with the confidence to be assertive when needed. You'll work waking nights in a therapeutic, secure home for young women with complex emotional needs and sometimes challenging behavior. The role requires a strong connection with young people and providing a steady, reassuring presence during the night.

Salary and Location

Salary: £31,200 per annum + Benefits

Location: Brockley, London (SE4)

Job Details

Full-Time and Part-Time Permanent Positions

Working hours include 4 x 8:30 PM - 8:30 AM night shifts and 1 day shift on alternating Thursdays.

Role Overview

We are offering a rewarding opportunity for a Female Waking Night Childrens Residential Care Support Worker who is compassionate, dedicated, and eager to make a difference. The organization works with young women (gender-inclusive) aged 8-18 with autism and emotional needs, including challenging behaviors like self-harm and suicidal ideation.

The role involves supporting young women with mental health challenges, trauma, and developing independent living skills. Experience in relational working with trauma and mental health support for young people is essential.

Duties
  • Remain awake during night shifts
  • Support children and young people per their care plans
  • Act as a key worker and advocate for children and young people
  • Coordinate with social workers, education, and health professionals
  • Build nurturing relationships and support emotional well-being
  • Assist with conflict resolution and behavior management
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
Candidate Requirements
  • Must be female
  • Level 3 Health and Social Care with Children or equivalent, or willing to work towards it within 2 years
  • Experience with children and young people with EBD and mental health challenges
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective record-keeping and confidentiality skills
