Founded in August 2012, International Women’s Initiative (IWI) is a Community Interest Company (CIC) working towardsthepromotion ofwomen's rights and gender equality around the world. We believe that we will achieve this through the creation of volunteer and professional networks and theprovision of a platform for engaging in constructive commentary and ideas-sharing in the field. Funds raisedby the organisation are used to support and resource partnerships with community-basedorganisations or projects. We are currently focusing on advancing our Safe Birthing Programme which seeks to reduce the high levels of maternal mortality in the Amolatar District, Uganda.

Job Description

Working remotely on a volunteer basis, we are searching for someone that can assist in keeping our social media platforms up to date. Currently, we use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. You would work closely in conjunction with our research assistant, who will provide you with resources and items for posting that are relevant to the topic of women's human rights issues. Postings will be doe in alignment with IWI's social media policy. You will also be working closely with the Director of Communications and the Director of Corporate Relations to push any sort of fundraising campaigns to the public.

Qualifications

We are seeking someone who is driven and self motivated. Ideally, this person will have a passion for women's rights, and have had experience using scheduling platforms such as HootSuite. Previous social media experience is a must.

Time Commitment: The minimum commitment is an average of 10-20 hours per week including a weekly one on one meeting with Operations Director, Amaranta Thompson and Director of Communications, Alyssa Chassman.
