Job summary

Ipswich Borough Council is seeking a Repairs Manager to jointly lead the Voids Service within the Housing Repairs Service. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, drive efficiency, meet deadlines and support the Principal Maintenance Manager.

You will develop teams through performance frameworks and training, monitor safety and quality, manage budgets and subcontractors, and report on performance against targets.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 or HNC in a building related field or working towards this
• Experience at supervisory/management level
• Experience of the building industry and Void processes
• Demonstrated performance management skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications
• Proven ability to manage budgets and report on them
• Full valid driving licence
• This is a full office/location-based role.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Voids Service within the Housing Repairs Service, reporting to the Principal Maintenance Manager.
• Oversee all operational works to meet cost, performance and quality targets.
• Ensure work complies with legal, health & safety and quality standards.
• Utilise staff, vehicles, plant and equipment cost-effectively and supervise subcontractors if needed.
• Record and report performance against targets and cost variations.
