Job summary

Ipswich Borough Council is seeking a Repairs Manager to lead the Voids Service within the Housing Repairs Service, reporting to the Principal Maintenance Manager. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams and ensure delivery within cost and quality targets.

You will develop teams using performance frameworks, training and development programmes, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards while optimising resources.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory/management roles.
• Knowledge of building industry and void processes.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and report on performance.
• Ability to train and develop staff using performance frameworks.
• Full valid driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Voids Service within the Housing Repairs Service.
• Oversee all operational works within agreed costs and quality targets.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and statutory standards.
• Utilise resources, vehicles, and equipment efficiently with mobile tech.
• Manage direct labour and subcontractor teams to meet targets.
• Record and report on performance and costs.
