Job summary

Southampton City Council is seeking an experienced manager for its Busy Voids team to oversee refurbishment of over 1,000 council-owned empty properties per year across the city. You will lead a multi-disciplinary trade team, manage diaries, visit tenants, and handle queries with a strong focus on health and safety and quality standards.

The successful candidate will drive budgets, KPI performance, and end-to-end void processes, working with stakeholders and other departments to meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Experience and working knowledge of CDM, HHSRS, Awaab’s Law and Health and Safety regulations.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to undergo DBS check.
• Flexible approach to meet changing needs and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a trade team from different disciplines.
• Oversee trade diaries and contractor management.
• Visit tenants and respond to queries via phone, email, and in person.
• Investigate complaints from stakeholders including Councillors, MPs and Ombudsman.
• Manage health, safety and welfare of staff and customers.
• Oversee void refurbishments and budgets, forecasts, and expenditure reports.
• Ensure KPI delivery and end-to-end void process.
